The photos you store in Kinzin are kept on Kinzin servers and are not stored with Facebook, so Facebook does not have access to them.
Only the people you explicitly invite using an email address or Facebook ID can access your photos, status updates, favorites or wish lists. For each person you invite, we create an indiscernible and private URL (website address) that can only be used from one computer (In the case of email invites), or one Facebook account (in the case of Facebook friends you invite).
Kinzin can put information in your Facebook profile and feeds if you choose. You can control how much or how little you share with your Facebook friends through the "Privacy Settings".
A list of people you have invited is displayed on the “Sharing” screen. You can remove people by clicking on the red circle you will see beside their name when you hover over it with your cursor. Doing this will not send a message to the recipient, however, if they go to the unique URL again then they will see a screen that says their guest pass is obsolete. They will then have the opportunity to email you and ask to be invited again (you don’t have to respond, of course).
In some cases, people who receive invitation emails from you may forward that email to someone else. The person who receives the forwarded email will not be able to use it. The URL (web address) we create is unique and is associated with the original invitee’s computer. We try to be a bit friendlier than a locked door though – after all, that person cares enough to want to see pictures of your kids! Kinzin will ask that as-yet-uninvited visitor if they would like to request an invite from you.
It’s your private space, so you can do whatever you want there, of course. Keep in mind, though, that the people you invite might be confused if they arrive and find pictures of kids that look just like yours but have different names.
You own the content that you add. We are not interested in owning your content. We will not sell your identifiable information or use it for advertising.
When you invite someone to see your books through Facebook or by email they are sent a unique URL (website address) where they can see a “read-only” version of your books and status messages you have written for your children. They can browse your space, and they can add comments to the pages in your books.
No, you can leave this out. We have added this option so that your closest friends and family can see when your kids’ birthdays are. In future versions we will add features that take advantage of the birthday info, such as automatic reminder messages when birthdays are coming up.
You can uninstall "These Are My Kids" from Facebook by clicking on the Facebook “Application” button on the left-hand menu of the Facebook interface. This will go to a new page where you can find a list of applications you have installed. One of the applications should be called “These Are My Kids”. When you find it in the list click on the “remove” link.
We have created a batch uploading function that allows you to Import Albums from Facebook* and Sets from Flickr. If you click on the “Import Photos As Book” you can choose to import from Flickr or Facebook*. If you choose Flickr you will be asked to login into Flickr if you are not already. Once you login you can choose which set you want to import. While importing a new book a placeholder book graphic will show up that indicates that it is importing. When the import is complete the word “importing…” will disappear.
One of the best things about importing books from sets or albums is that it carries over the time stamps (dates) and titles associated with each image. Our awesome programmers wanted to make it easier on you.
You can also import individual images from Flickr by clicking on the dropdown menu associated with uploading pictures. See our Users Guide for more information.

*You can only import photos from Facebook if you are using the Facebook version “These Are My Kids”
Yes, and it’s a good idea to remind people. In the “Sharing” section under your list of invitees there is a button labeled “Send Message”. If you click on this it will pop-up a dialogue box that will allow you to send a message to specific people from your invite list or send a message to everyone in your invite list. People you want to send a message to must be in your invite list already.
IMPORTANT NOTE: People who are on your invite list from Facebook can see if you have made updates via your profile block, mini-feeds and news-feeds. You can control what information they can see by clicking on the “Privacy” tab under "Sharing & Privacy". There is a list of information where you can hide or show what you choose. There are also additional privacy setting within Facebook itself.
You should upload the best-quality images you have. On the server, we downsize all photos you upload to make them display faster on the web page, but we also keep the high-resolution original files on-hand for printing. We do have an upper limit on uploaded file size, which is 10MB - your file needs to be smaller than that to upload. 10MB would be a whopping huge picture though, so a good range to work with is between 2 to 4MB.
We have put together a User Guide where the features are listed. You can find it here.
